Programme of Annual Local Events

Frinton & Walton Heritage Trust

Coffee Mornings take place weekly at the Frinton Crossing Cottage on Tuesdays from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon April to September, and on the third Tuesday of every month from October to Easter. The Crossing Keeper's Signal Box Museum will also be open on Tuesday mornings as well as during the events held on Saturdays.

Walton Maritime Museum opens daily 2.00 - 4.00 pm from June to September and also on Bank Holiday Weekends, with special "shows" taking place over Easter Weekends.

A Social Events Programme is available throughout the year which includes talks taking place at Frinton Methodist Church Hall from 7.30 pm.

May: SPRING FAIR at Frinton Crossing Gardens from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.

As the above Fairs are the Trust's main fundraising events, they are grateful for donations of bric-a-brac, cakes, preserves, books, plants, etc, and helpers on the day.

Frinton & District Horticultural Society

(affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society) hold evening meetings (non-members welcome) on the first Thursday of each month in the Frinton Methodist Church Hall, Fourth Avenue, at 7.00 pm for 7.30pm.

Three Shows take place each year, usually in April, June, and September. The shows provide the opportunity to exhibit flowers, pot-plants, vegetables, fruit, floral arrangements, photographs, home-craft items and handicraft work. For further details, please telephone 01255 672150.

Outings are also arranged. In recent years, members have been invited to join coach outings arranged by the Kirby Gardening Club.

The current annual membership subscription is £7.


Frinton & Walton Postcard Club

Although this club was started for those who collect or who are interested in postcards, it is not necessary to have this as a hobby in order to join in the friendly monthly social evenings and enjoy the talks/presentations given by guest speakers on a wide variety of subjects. The club meets on the second Tuesday of every month in St. Cedd's Hall, Old Road, Frinton at 7.30pm.

The entrance fee is £2 and includes refreshments.

A Postcard Fair is arranged each year, usually held in September at the McGrigor Hall, Fourth Avenue, Frinton, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

The Saxon Theatre Group

The Saxon Theatre Group perform at the McGrigor Hall, Fourth Avenue, Frinton-on-Sea, at various times during the year.


The Box Office will be open at the McGrigor Hall beforehand for the purchase of tickets.


The Frinton Players

The Frinton Players also perform at the McGrigor Hall, Fourth Avenue, Frinton-on-Sea, at various times during the year.


The Frinton (Music) Festival

The Frinton (Music) Festival usually takes place during June each year.

Frinton-on-Sea Cricket Club

Cricket Week is held at the end of July. A week of matches, including the Essex XI and Lloyds of London XI. Also, Matches every Saturday and Sunday throughout the Season.

Frinton WEA runs Day Schools and longer Courses at specific times of the year.

Pedlars Wood Open Days used to take place in May from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm.

A Picnic in the Park

A Picnic in the Park takes place at the end of June from 6.30 pm until 11.00 pm in Glebe Field, Kirby-Le-Soken. Doors Open at 5.45 pm. There is usually a great line up of local bands. It's bring your own food and drink, but there will be a tea and coffee bar.

Trefoil Guild

In Trefoil Guild, women and men aged 18+ make new friends, travel, explore, serve their communities, and help Guiding and Scouting thrive across the UK! Whether you're involved in Guiding, Scouting or not, Trefoil Guild is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your next adventure – whatever that might be!

There is a raffle each month, we have a programme of events and most meetings we have a book sale. Visitors are always welcome, a donation of £1.50 is requested (includes refreshments). There is no pressure to join the organisation, you can attend as often as you wish as a non-member of the Trefoil Guild. If you wish to join, there is a yearly subscription, currently £14.50, payable in January (non-members of the organisation are not covered by the Trefoil Guild Insurance scheme).
